Generating Modules

The AI Design Assistant can suggest modules, with titles and descriptions, based on your course’s title and description.

Generating Modules

  1. Select the plus icon (+) on the course content page.

  1. Select Create from the drop-down. The Create Item panel is displayed.

  1. Select Auto-Generated Modules. The Auto-Generate Learning Modules panel is displayed.

  1. By default, the AI Design Assistant will use your course’s title and description to generate four modules, including titles and descriptions for those modules. You can choose from those generated modules or you can add more information in the Define Learning Modules pane:

    1. Add a description

    2. Select items from your course

    3. Choose a prefix for the module titles

    4. Specify whether the modules should include images or not
The images for generated modules are AI-generated images and need to be reviewed before being included in your course

    5. Adjust the complexity of the module’s topic

    6. Select the number of modules to generate

Select Generate to run the module generation process again.
Tip: Even if you don’t add any more information in the Define Learning Module pane, you can select Generate to run the module generation process again to generate different modules.

  1. If there are any modules you would like to add to your course, select the checkbox next to the desired module(s), then select Add # to Course.

The generated modules will be hidden from your students. You need to review the title, description, and images (if used) for each module for accuracy and appropriateness before making the module available to students.

To edit the module:

  1. Select the three dots (…) associated with that module and select Edit.

  1. Select the pencil icon or the title to edit the title of the module.

  1. Select Hidden from students to change the visibility of the module.

  1. Select the Description text box to edit the description of the module. Note: Descriptions are limited to 750 characters and cannot be styled (i.e., bold, underlined, coloured text, etc.).

  1. Optional: Select Forced Sequence to set the Learning module’s content to be viewed in sequence.

  1. In the Image section, select the trashcan icon to remove the image for this module. You can also select the image icon to add a different image:

    1. From the drop-down menu, select Upload from Device to add an image you have already saved.

    2. From the drop-down menu, select Stock Images from Unsplash to search for royalty-free images from Unsplash. See the Finding Images for Modules for more information on searching Unsplash images for your modules.

    3. From the drop-down menu, select Generate images to see AI-generated images for this module. You can enter a description to generate an image.

  1. If the image is decorative, keep the checkmark beside Mark the image as decorative. Content marked as decorative won't provide descriptions to screen readers. However, if the image is informative, remove the checkmark beside Mark the image as decorative. Then input the description of the image in the Alternative text box.

  1. Select Save. The Learning module is displayed on the course content page.
