Intercultural knowledge, according to Seneca’s Core Literacies, “is the knowledge, attitudes and skills that support effective and appropriate interaction in a variety of cultural contexts in order to adapt to and build relationships.” And we define ‘global perspective’ as “the exploration of global issues and challenges from diverse worldviews that respects differences, while informing and broadening individual views.” In the classroom, this is done by “creating an inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and makes connections between and among local and global issues and contexts” (according to the Teaching Standards).
