This academic year is almost a wrap! Sunny days and backyard patios are ahead. I am currently trying to extend my Wi-Fi to my porch to ensure I can enjoy the nice weather as we check off another academic year online.

This year, Academic College Council (ACC) reviewed the revised Learn@Seneca Minimum Requirements policy as well as the General Education and Liberal Studies policies. As we shifted into a virtual setting, the focus and feedback from students, faculty, and staff is vital. The Academic Integrity and Appeal Repository System was launched in three schools over the winter semester. More schools will be added to the system in the fall. This tool will assist with tracking, managing, and storing our case records. This SharePoint system will also provide Seneca with data on policy and procedure implementation as well as an increased effectiveness of our forms and processes. The collaboration for this project was College-wide, and we appreciate all of the hard work and continued efforts that enhance our students' progress and success.

I would like to thank the ACC members for all of their hard work and dedication over this past year. I realize that online meetings can be challenging but our membership is strong and I look forward to the 2021-2022 year!

I would also like to take a moment to mention that this will be Laurel’s last term with the ACC. I joined ACC in 2015 and I feel so lucky to have been a part of such an outstanding group. Laurel has been a great mentor and has definitely instilled inspiration.

Laurel’s encouragement, guidance, and support steered the success of this council. Thank you for your passion and dedication to students, faculty, and staff.

Words are certainly not enough to express our gratitude for how responsive and dynamic you've been – especially over this past year.

Thank you for being a brilliant example of the sort of leadership we are supposed to embody now, and in the future!
