Career Recharge, presented by TD, is an innovative approach to re-skilling mid-career individuals who want to prepare for their career-future. This could include re-entering the workforce, advancing in their existing field, changing careers, starting a venture, or understanding the impact of technological change on the world of work.
Seneca is providing transformative change in the lives of mid-career individuals with a vision to change career DNA — helping to transform them into creative thinkers, designers, problem solvers, collaborators — which will enable people to be successful in a changing work environment and engaged citizens.
The TD Ready Challenge provided ten $1 million grants to organizations. Seneca was one of 10 from across North America who competed for and won this grant due to our ability to demonstrate scalable solutions that will lead to financial security and inclusion for people that are facing career changes.
Through this $1 million grant, Seneca is able to provide a series of workshops, events, and mentorship opportunities. This initiative is free and open to the public and the Seneca community. Since Career Recharge launched in early June, more than 550 individuals have participated in the workshops – both in-person and online. The 24 workshops are comprised of such topics as developing career goals for a changing workforce, design and system thinking, growth mindset, mind mapping, building relationships, and customer service with a focus on building resilience.
A number of areas within Seneca have collaborated in the development and delivery of Career Recharge, including HELIX, Faculty of Continuing Education and Training, Seneca Business, the Teaching & Learning Centre, Career Development, Leadership Employee Development, Learning Centers, Information Technology Services, Marketing and Communications, Advancement, and the Centre for Institutional Data and Enterprise Analytics.
Workshops are hosted every other Tuesday between 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in HELIX (K2000, NH) and available through livestream. Sign-up for the next workshop or check out full series at senecacollege.ca/recharge.
