Highly positive audit site visit
A large number of Seneca stakeholders supported Seneca in a highly successful quality audit, which was conducted by the Ontario College Quality Assurance Service (OCQAS) over two days in March 2017.

The purpose of the audit is to assess the effectiveness of our institution-wide quality assurance mechanisms, with the goal of continuous improvement. Seneca completed two previous quality audits in 2006 and 2011.

Participants at the visit included representatives from our faculty, students, graduates, and administrators, as well as Program Advisory Committees, Board of Governors, Human Resources, Library, Information Technology Services, Academic Learning Services, and all other service areas.

Preliminary feedback from the audit panel

The panel expressed appreciation for the high quality of work that was evident in the self-study documentation, as well as the site visit. Specifically, the panel commented on the high level of commitment to quality and continuous improvement that was displayed throughout the site visit, starting with the students and faculty, and continuing right up to the program advisory committees and Board members.

Acknowledgements
Seneca’s quality assurance processes are critical to the quality of our academic programs, and we look forward to sharing highlights from the final audit report with the academic community in the coming months. The executive summary will be posted on the OCQAS website once it has been approved by their Management Board.

Jean Choi, Amie Gheewala, and Jennifer Parker would like to thank all the participants for their contributions at the site visit. And we owe a very special thank you to the seven program chairs (Biljana Bruce, Mary Fisher, Gitte Hansen, Mark Jones, Mary Lynn Manton, Sandra Noble, and Angela Zigras) who provided such rich exemplars from their high-quality programs. We are so proud of how you showcased all the great work we are doing here at Seneca!
