by Karina Espinosa, Nursing, and Community & Health Librarian in Seneca Libraries

Seneca Libraries is excited to announce that Leganto, our resource list management system, launched a new and improved user interface (UI) this month.

Here’s what users can expect with Leganto’s new UI:

An Intuitive User Experience

One of the main goals of the Leganto redesign was to declutter and simplify the user experience for instructors. Tasks such as adding resources, organizing sections, rearranging items, and linking lists to courses are easier to execute with minimal guidance.

Seamless Blackboard Integration

The improved UI enables instructors to more easily create lists, arrange items, and share resources within the context of a specific course in Blackboard. With Leganto’s redesign, students are presented with a clean interface that facilitates quick access to course resources.

Responsive and Minimalist Design

Leganto provides a flexible design that supports all device types. When accessing Leganto on a mobile device, all users are now presented with a simplified and easy-to-navigate student view. For students on the move, connecting with course resources has never been easier.

Smooth Transition for Existing Users

Existing users will find that the change to the new UI is seamless. Leganto has retained its core functions — such as adding resources and publishing lists — but with the added benefit of clearer language and enhanced visibility.

To facilitate this transition, the library has updated the Leganto Guide for Faculty and is offering a brand new Leganto training session on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 10 a.m. Eastern (sign up via MyPD).

Seneca Libraries is committed to providing students, staff, and faculty with the best resources and tools to support their learning journey. Whether you’re a new or existing Leganto user, we encourage you to explore the upgraded tool and discover its many benefits. If you have any questions or would like help getting started on a resource list, you can contact your liaison librarian or email leganto@senecapolytechnic.ca.
