SAFS is delighted to announce the addition of three new faculty members:

Brendan Bergie

Over the past 18 months, Brendan has taught both undergraduate and graduate-level students and has recently taken on the role of acting Program Coordinator for the FIP and CFP programs.

Prior to his time at Seneca, Brendan spent over 30 years in the financial services industry. In addition to managing teams across various corporate areas, he has held client-facing and leadership roles in Private Wealth Management and Personal & Small Business Banking. Brendan has led several advisory teams to achieve success and he brings this passion and experience to the classroom.

Brendan earned his MBA from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and holds the Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation.

Outside of school, Brendan volunteers as the Treasurer of the Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra, a local community orchestra that is currently celebrating its 60th season. Kiran Bisnauth joined Seneca as a full time Professor in the School of Accounting and Financial Services, Faculty of Business, in August 2022. She has been teaching in a part time capacity at Seneca and York University for 15+ years teaching various financial and business courses to undergraduate and graduate students.    Before joining Seneca on a full-time basis, Kiran has held roles of increasing leadership responsibility, most recently as CFO for a healthcare company.  She has worked in various organizations including the pharmaceutical sector, manufacturing industry, service industry, not-for-profit area and worked in public accounting at Deloitte and Touche.  Her experience spans from private small start-ups to public multinational corporations and volunteer work.  She brings this breadth of business experience to her current role.

Kiran enjoys cooking and baking and testing out new recipes on her husband and three children.  To combat all the baking, she stays active at the gym.  Kiran recently checked something off her bucket list by obtaining her yoga teaching certificate! You can often find her out in the community at her children’s sporting events and spending time with family and friends.
