Sandbox

The Sandbox helps your students develop digital literacy competencies. The Sandbox supports a variety of digital assignment types by showing students how to use a range of digital tools for digital media creation. Sandbox instruction helps students to create and communicate effectively and responsibly when using digital technologies. 

Tutorials & Packages 

Sandbox tutorials are student-focused modules that support students in creating a range of digital media projects, including videos, infographics, websites and more.  

Sandbox Packages for Learn@Seneca can be loaded into your course to connect your students with step-by-step Sandbox tutorials, added interactive elements, and links to Sandbox Webinars and Digital Media Appointments (1:1 consultations with Sandbox staff). Sandbox Packages also provide faculty with tips for digital assignment assessment and automatically connect to grade centre and rubrics. These packages are designed around learning outcomes that faculty can expand and modify to complement their course learning objectives. The catalogue of Sandbox Packages continues to grow and be updated.  

Webinars 

The Sandbox offers online webinars to the whole Seneca community. Sandbox webinars cover a range of digital media formats including infographics, videos, animated videos and websites with a focus on tools that are freely available to Seneca students. 

Open webinars are found on the Sandbox webinar calendar. Seneca students and employees are welcome to register for any webinar, whether it’s for a specific assignment or for general interest. 

Upon our return to campus, the Sandbox will provide students and employees with bookable digital media studios that support the creation of video, audio and photography projects.
