The Teaching & Learning Centre is happy to announce that a New Faculty Mentoring Program (NFMP) pilot is coming this way in fall 2023. We are looking for experienced, knowledgeable, supportive mentors who have a passion for supporting others.

Growth and development of new faculty is not linked to having a mentor… it is linked to being mentored in a purposeful and thoughtful manner. The New Faculty Mentoring Program is integrated and non-evaluative support for new full-time faculty, and not an additional onboarding requirement.

What will Mentors do?

The New Faculty Mentoring Program will allow faculty to learn from one another, providing an opportunity for skill and knowledge transfer. The mentor’s role is to support, guide, advise, answer questions, and provide ‘just in time’ information to the mentee. Mentors and Mentees will have regularly scheduled time to meet, have productive conversations, ask questions, and learn.

Why Apply?

Mentees are not the only ones who benefit from the Mentor/Mentee partnership. Here are but a few benefits for mentors selected:
